Considering the credit crunch, recession etc, is it OK to take the money out of my kids Christmas cards?

LMAO, yes what they don’t know won’t hurt them – I’ll be spending the baby’s cash! lol

You reminded me of when I was younger back in the days my birth father bothered to send us Christmas money – we’d take the money out of the cards and post the cards back to his sorry ar$e, lol

(Having met him as a grown woman, I have no remorse over this whatsoever!)I think so yes. As long as its going towards good use and not drugs and booze. If theyre old enough and youve bought them up proper their most probably give it you, and if their young then make a tally and put it away for them xSo when your relatives ask the kids what they spent the money on what answer do you think they’ll give?

I defy anyone to say they’ve never been in the position of being down to their last fiver & guarding it with their life.

Set the cash aside for now & as we get closer to Christmas if you really desperately need it then dip into it but give the kids something out of it, I don’t know how much it is, give them maybe a tenner each to spend on what they like then owe them the rest. In the New Year, give them a fiver a month or stick it in their savings accounts until it’s back.
No it isn't right to do this. However, if you need that cash in order to feed the kids, buy clothes for them, pay the rent/mortgage or utility bills or buy other things necessary to run a household then it would be okay to do this.

If you ask the kids for a loan they more than likely will give it too you.

Sorry you have to do this. It's tough for alot of folks this year.If you need the cash to feed, shelter or clothe your kids, I guess it would be understandable. If you need the money to make your payment on that new BMW, I’d find that to be reprehensible. either way, you should consider it a loan from your kids, and the responsible thing to do would be to make some kind of repayment arrangements. -RKO- Well i would or could not do that even though times are so hard for me and my son..When i was young all the b-day money christmas money got taken for beers and booze and i got nothing while the other kids got all these cool gifts.I may borrow 5 dollars at times from my boy’ but the next day or so it’s back in his bank ..Yes, so long as it goes to basic needs; food, shelter and / or clothing. Buying gifts for others or for the kids that you honestly cannot afford is not giving your kids or anyone a gift in the long run. It depends how desperate you are, if you did I suppose you would return the money to their piggy bank later, so why not. Some people would say its stealing, but in your case if your “Very Desperate” you have no choice. You`ll get comments that its wrong etc: but their not in your position. What would you have done if no cash had been in the Cards, ? So leave it alone as it is not yours, as it is stealing. The people who put the money in there might ask the children what they bought…. then what do you expect the children to answer. Or would you tell a pack of lies. Do not know how you could do this to your children. You do not sound like a decent Mother at all if you can stoop that low.
