What the debt collection agent can do to me?i have no money to pay back.?
Do you have a job? They can garnish your wages
They can destroy your credit score.
They can stalk you for months.
The best thing to do is just call them back and arrange for a payment plan. If you can, work until you can get about 3/4 of the money. Call them and say, "Okay, I can pay you $X of the original $Y debt."
They can either take it in lieu of the full debt, or say that you will still have to pay the remainder the of the debt.
Either way, I suggest getting a job (or second job) and paying it off.Why don’t you have any money to pay back? Why did you run up the debt in the first place? What about sparing a thought for the people you owe the money to?
Depending upon how much you owe, you could be made bankrupt. If you can not afford to pay any outstanding debts that you have, perhaps you could contact the agency or creditors and ask to arrange an installmant plan.
If you are unable to pay a Defult will be issued by your creditors, a county court judgement may be issued against your name (CCJ). This inturn is stored on your credit file and reduces your credit score, this dramatically reduces your credit score and makes obtaining credit difficult, that new car, house etc. However it will take longer to build up your credit rating and to do so you will have to settle outstanding debt with your creditors
Try your upmost to resolve a "promise to pay" plan, with your creditors. I’ve been there myself so good luck you’ll get through it
The only real power they have over you is to damage your credit rating and to annoy you. By themselves, debt collectors have absolutely no legal power over you., they cannot garnish your wages or freeze checking accounts…only a court can authorize this and they’d have to go through the court system to do this.
