If it is a personal loan and is not secured to your house (check paperwork) then they can’t touch your house, first you must agree on a payment plan then if you default they can take you to court and get a ccj on you, if you still default they can then look at securing it to your house and then you have big problems. you must seek independent advice.Yes they can attach it to your house but they have to get a county court judgment first .But it is not a secured loan so they cannot evict you . However if you decide to sell your house then your creditor will be settled before you receive the proceeds of the sale.By themselves, debt collectors have no direct power to attach liens on your house, garnish your wages or freeze your checking accounts, only a court can authorize this and they’d have to go through the court system to do this.
